Each week, as we progress through our assigned reading, we will be focusing on several questions to help guide the reading. You will choose one of those questions to answer in depth after an in-class discussion about the questions. Once that happens, each student will be expected to respond to three (3) different answers. Students can respond multiple times, and should feel encouraged to engage in productive back-and-forth conversations.
Explain the quirk of our numbers system and give a hypothesis of why it exists.
Suggest a reason why psychologists like Richard Wynn want to suggest really complex reasons for why some cultures score higher on math tests.
Recall Schonefield's story about Renee and his other students - how does it change or reinforce your perspective on how to achieve success in Math?
Discuss your habits related to when you approach a difficult problem. How long do you work by yourself before you ask for help? How do you ask for help?
