This week, we read about how musical memories can stay in the brain for decades, even in Alzheimer's patients. Write a narrative or descriptive essay surrounding a musical memory that is strong for you. It must feature a specific artist, song, or album. For your comments, find people who have written about music that makes a connection to you and respond with that connection.

There is this song called "The Foundation" by Xzibit and it just reminds me of my dad because the song is about the dad (Xzibit) talking to his son about the obstacles he will face during life. He talks about how you cannot trust everyone even if they are your "friends" and how if something happens to take care of his mom. A line that stuck out to me is "just because *****'** get behind you don't mean they got yo' back."

I agree with you but the thing is that it doesn't remind me of my dad it just reminds me of my mom because my mom was the one who mostly told me that life is not easy and that you truly don't have real friends and that I really shouldn't help my "friends" Because they won't do the same to you.

This song really connects to me because I have had my dad tell me that before that life is going to be hard and i can barely trust anyone even if they are my friends and no matter what happens that i should just take care of my mom.

There is this song called "lie" By NF and it reminds me when my so call "friend" Betrayed my trust because she kept telling me lies about things that are not true about her and some lies where about me hurting her and control her no matter what and she told other people and I really didn't appreciate that and I even told her some of my secret and she spread them and I felt terrible about what other people found out about me she also told me that she was sad because of a so called boyfriend of hers which she never had and she would always call me every night and she would be crying on the phone. What the song is talking about is that this guy is helping out the person he loves and that person ends up telling lies about him that they don't mean anything and that she doesn't need him and that is what I felt when my friend did this to me.A line that mostly grabs my attention is when the song says “If that's how you really feel then why'd you call last night? You say all I ever do is control your life but how are you going to lie like that”.

There is this one song from Bosnia that when I was a baby my grandpa would sing to me to go take a nap or to sleep. he would put me on his shoulder or he would cradle me and I would fall sleep. My mom say that every time he did that I would fall a sleep easily.

This is relatable to my song because it is comforting, and makes you want to go back to those good times.

I can relate to this because my song makes want to spend more time. even though the time spent wouldn't be on basketball, there is still a meaningful connection.

When I was nine, I went on a trip with my church to Israel. Everything was very special there, but it was made even better by the chapels that we would have out in the woods. The last day of our trip, our chapel was at the lodge we were staying at. The last song we sang was "10,000 Reasons." While we were all singing I looked around the room and thought about how this experience would be over the next day. Since then, this song makes me sad and happy at the same time, and has become my favorite song ever since. It reminds me of the good times I had with the people I considered family.

A musical memory that would be strong for me would be the song " Raccin to da checc" by a upcoming rapper named Bravo tha Locc and why that would have to be be a musical memory is because in one of the verses he says " I know some people wanna see me in my grave b**** they couldn't take me even if they tried today my dawg switched on me that's a lame b****" and that just gives me so many memories that I have had in the past because some of the family members that I have have passed away and from one thing jealousy and that verse just takes me back because they wanna see him in his grave because he came up successful ad made something of himself while the others did not who which are the ( Haters).

There's this song called 'Ross Capicchioni" by Joyner Lucas and it reminds me that everyone isn't always gonna be true to you, and that everyone isn't always a "friend" no matter how much you doubt it. A guy wanted to join a gang and in order to do so he had to kill a innocent victim without any evidence or any snitches. He ended up shooting him twice with a shotgun, but ross (the victim) had survived. This song has told me how dangerous things could be, that i should always watch my back, but to stay strong.

There is a song named Cold soul by Love sad kid and it makes me have a memory every time i listen to it or even think of it. I remember one line vividly that goes "She knows that everything that glitters isn't gold" i think this line stuck out to me so much because so many people just jump to the first sight of something glittering or shiny without thinking what it could be, without thinking about the actions they are doing to get that shiny figure that might not even be what they are looking for. it has taught me to think before i act and to really have situational awareness about things that i may have not seen before.
