How does Churchill address the sentiment of the British people at the time related to the conflict with Germany? Listen to the entire speech in the video below. The section we read eliminates much of the speech. What is gained and what is lost by these inclusions? Churchill refers to "a quarrel between the past and the present." Why does he address the current war in this way, instead of addressing the specifics of the conflict? Imagine Churchill only had 5 minutes to deliver this speech.
